I want to highlight the Ayurveda secret of being healthy by the auto-cleaning mechanism of our body by Fasting is the best medicine, "????? ???? ????" as per our classics.
It explains how one can keep the jathargni or digestive fire strong and at the same time avoid diseases.
If you already have some health issues, then also it is very beneficial. Fasting is recommended as per seasonal variations. There are 3 types of fasting in Ayurveda classics;
1. Physical fasting
2. Mental fasting
3. Verbal fasting

Physical fasting is simple. As in this, we have the choice of taking a very light meal, but it is important to understand that we don't eat all the things whatever we eat should be of good quality and nutritious.
In a nutshell, food should be sattvic. So, you can opt for a little number of fruits or a few fruits with herbal detox water or take moong dal khichadi. You can also try intermittent fasting. Skip dinner at night or if you choose, you may skip breakfast. Try to keep a gap of 14-15 hrs between the meals.
Mental fasting is also essential. Understanding this, every day, we are eating not just through our mouth but also through our eyes and ears. We hear things, we see, we think about or read some- All these might bring negative thoughts. Try to eliminate negativity in aloof form and try to stay calm for a few moments or be Sattvic. Sattvic here means anything that relaxes your mind. Clean, vegetarian food, soothing music, positive stories, etc.
Rajas guns and Tamas guns agitate our minds, create negativity, and lead to problems.
Verbal Fasting refers to the control of speech or doing some breathing exercises like Pranayam, meditation.
That is how we can do these three types of fasting and treat our health problems from their root cause.
