To ensure future growth and to build, establish and lead current and future in- and out-licensing partnerships, we are now exclusively looking for an experienced, pro-active and scientifically-minded personality to fill the newly created position Head of Licensing & Business Development*.

In this newly created Licensing & Business development role, you will be part of the Global Scientific Innovation & Partnering team with a focus on and responsibility for the execution of global in- and out-licensing transaction deals. As a member of the leadership team, you will actively contribute to the company's growth strategy.
The position’s main responsibilities include, without being limited to, the following:
- Being part of and orchestrating the whole licensing process including partner and opportunity evaluations
- Serving as a primary point and being accountable for crafting, evaluation, negotiation, development, and execution of non-binding term sheets (NBTS) as well as contractual terms, in a timely manner
- Solve contract-related issues that might arise with both, internally and with other parties
- Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewals
- Maintain records for correspondence and documentation of established contracts as well as contracts in progress
- Communicate and present key information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters
- Build, maintain and leverage a worldwide network of potential partners
YOUR EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATION FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE
- Ideally, the position requires a successfully completed university degree in life sciences and/or business administration. Long-term years of broad pharmaceutical or biotechnology or institutional experience with strong focus on contracting and project management.
We believe, that the successful job holder should have the following capabilities:

- Effective understanding (structuring, negotiation, and completion) of the pharmaceutical industry licensing process with track records in out- and in-licensing transactions (whole process) for early, advanced, and even marketed products, solid foundation of generally accepted BD practices
- In-depth understanding of contract language and style guidelines
- High experience in managing relationships and interfacing with partners with strong negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills, fable to details, ability to prioritize while balancing several projects in parallel
- History of working in complex and cross-functional team environments with numerous / diverse stakeholders
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manoeuvre complex tasks by ensuring contributions from internal and external cross-functional teams under F2F and virtual conditions.
- Ability to travel as needed, including internationally
- Excellent language skills in English and German are required.
