This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished educational leader to join the Executive Leadership Team as the Head of Junior School (Pre-Prep – Year 6). This position is ideal for a passionate professional who will bring high-quality service and strong leadership across the strategic, operational, educational and pastoral care aspects of the Junior School. The successful candidate will develop their own vision for the Junior School as part of the wider school community. The Head of Junior School is a teacher, administrator and leader, an inspiring role model for teachers, and a builder of community. Additionally, the successful candidate will encourage innovation and creativity, embrace new ideas, and promote an inclusive, holistic environment for girls to thrive.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A commitment to the Anglican ethos and support of the St Hilda’s School vision, mission and values
  • Experience as a classroom practitioner with the ability to motivate and inspire current teaching practices through research and the use of new technologies
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with proven success in leading and influencing change across a variety of stakeholders including students, staff, families and community
  • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to inspire, develop and mentor staff, building strong relationships based on trust and collaboration
  • Proven experience in leading projects and managing resources
  • Leadership in all aspects of Junior School operations including timetabling, curriculum, structures, systems, software and staff management
