HEAD OF GLOBAL PHILANTHROPY | UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER

Great things happen at The University of Manchester because of the work we do. It could be finding a new treatment for cancer, discovering a new wonder material like Nobel Prize winning graphene, providing a prestigious scholarship to an exceptional student or influencing government policies to help the world’s poorest people.

Everyone in our Division of Development & Alumni Relations plays an important role in making this happen and you could be part of this. Development and Alumni Engagement are an integral part of The University of Manchester today.

Our President and Vice Chancellor recognises the enormous value alumni and donors can bring to the University, not only through their generous financial support and investment, but also with their expertise, time and influence. With over 400,000 alumni around the world, we have an enormous - almost unprecedented - opportunity to help the University of Manchester have an even greater impact in the world.

This is the perfect time to join the University of Manchester as we celebrate the bicentenary of the University, 200 years from its earliest origins in 1824. Over the past ten years, we have significantly grown our fundraising income, with almost £100 million received in the past five years alone and donor numbers increasing by 3,000 to over 6,000 every year.

Following the celebrations of our 200th anniversary, we will step firmly into our third century by publicly launching a major University-wide fundraising and volunteering campaign. The public phase of the campaign will launch in the autumn of 2024 and will run until at least 2027.

The campaign will be the first of its kind in Manchester’s history and will build on existing activity to amplify its reach and impact - engaging new audiences and involving the whole of our university community in fundraising and volunteering.

We are focused on continued growth, on innovation and on impact. You will be joining a highly motivated, collaborative, supportive and friendly team.

Driven by the desire to make a difference, we encourage our teams to be ambitious and bold, to stretch themselves and not be afraid to try something new. So much of what we do is about building and nurturing relationships - whether that be with each other, with colleagues across the University or with our alumni and donors - which is why integrity is at the heart of how we work.

This is a significant year to join the Development team in Manchester as we grow our teams to deliver the public phase of our campaign.

If you’re looking for a new opportunity which is challenging, rewarding and impactful, then please do consider applying. We are on an exciting journey as an institution and would love to hear from you.

Grade 8 £57,696 to £68,857 plus USS Pension - options for either Full Time or Part Time with Flexible and Hybrid Working.
