He Lives On
Jesus Christ...the ONLY Savior of the World
Christmas has come and gone. The sentiment of the season was exhilarating. Family gatherings, gift giving and the sweet spirit of fun and fellowship were uppermost in most minds. Thoughts of kindness permeated hearts and acts of generosity surrounded us.
But, how many stop to think that Jesus is no longer the Babe in a manger; and for that matter, no longer hanging on Calvary's tree? Of course, we remember that He gave that perfect life as a ransom for our sin, so that we can be reconciled to His and Our Father. But, are we meditating on the fact that He grew up and lived a sinless life, leaving us an example for us to follow in His footsteps? (1 Peter 2:21-22).
Have you considered that He is sitting as our High Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary? He is pleading, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need...Come unto me all ye that labor and heavy laden and I will give you rest" (Hebrews 4:16; Matthew 11:28). And we all need that mercy, grace and rest, don't we?
Soon He shall return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will then rescue His redeemed from this world of sin and woe to take them home to spend the ceaseless ages of eternity with Him. His servant John assures us,"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (Revelation 21:4). What a glorious day that would be; but are you preparing to meet Him when He comes?
Did you know that He has given us a standard by which we can be ready to be reconciled and reunited with Him? He informs us, "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city" (Revelation 22:14).
