He got me to double my spend with one simple trick.

Last weekend, the award for ‘selling through effective storytelling’ went to Tom, who I met on a stall where he was selling crystals at the weekend.

I bought a small amount of stones for my Son who loves them and after I handed over my ￡10 and was about to leave, Tom, the stall holder, picked up another stone and said words to the effect of ‘Let me tell you a short story about this one before you leave’. It wasn’t one that I had bought and everyone loves a story.?

He recounted that a woman, who had visited his stall in the past, had picked up the stone and as soon as she did she quickly put it back down on the table. Tom asked her if everything was ok. She explained how she had been suffering from anxiety for years and that nothing had been able to help her. She continued by telling him that when she held the stone the tightness in her chest, that she had carried for years, left her. As soon as I heard this story, I thought of someone I know that suffers from anxiety and decided to buy one straight away. The stone is called Shungite and whether or not it will actually work is yet to be seen but after hearing this story, I took out the ￡10 he was asking for it and gladly paid for it.?He got me to successfully double my spend by telling one very short story. I loved that.
