The HCA Healthcare Hope Fund: Caring for Each Other Like Family
Fostering a culture where we care for each other is not just a nicety but a cornerstone of success in any organization. Our culture helps us pull together and accomplish more as a team than we ever could separately. At HCA?Healthcare, “We care like family” is not just a slogan; it defines who we are – and one of the best demonstrations of where our commitment to each other shows up is the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund.?
Since it started in July 2005, the Hope Fund’s purpose has been simple: to help HCA Healthcare colleagues and immediate families affected by financial hardship. This includes supporting them through natural disasters, extended illness or injury, domestic violence, death of a loved one and other difficult situations that impact their personal security and essential needs.?
As a long-time advocate of the Hope Fund, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact it has on our colleagues’ lives. It’s not just about financial assistance; it’s about fostering a sense of unity and support across our company, transcending geographical and professional boundaries. The Hope Fund is the best of who we are, a testament to our collective strength and a beacon of hope for the most vulnerable members of our HCA Healthcare family.?
The Hope Fund is all about helping our HCA Healthcare colleagues. One hundred percent of donated funds go directly to colleagues in need, as HCA Healthcare covers all administrative costs.??
Since its inception, the Hope Fund has issued over $105 million in grants that have helped 54,000 families. Last year alone, over 3,700 families were assisted through grants totaling over $11.3 million. This included helping 483 Physician Services colleagues and their families with $1.2 million.
