Happy New Year from all of us at HBS!

We hope that you’ve had a happy holiday season and an energising start to the new year.

2023 was an extremely busy year for HBS, and we couldn’t be more grateful for our clients and our team. We worked on five continents producing 12 events, with over 4,000 staff. We also renovated and officially re-opened our Paris office, celebrating with an all-staff gathering in the new space . Plus, we opened a brand new office in London to oversee our UK operations. 2024 is going to be special for HBS – it’s the company’s 25th birthday ! In honour of this special anniversary, you’ll be seeing plenty of exciting content on our LinkedIn channel, including this quarterly newsletter. This is the first of many to come, and you can expect company news along with amazing insights into the sports broadcast industry.

This month’s spotlight is on sustainability in the sports broadcast industry. If you haven’t read it yet, be sure to check out our COO Luc Antoine Charial’s article discussing this topic . Keeping with this theme, don’t miss SVG’s recent piece on how HBS worked with World Rugby and Lawo to reach sustainability goals for Rugby World Cup 2023.

What We Are Working On

We’re working on many exciting events this year, all over the world. We are starting the year supporting Infront Sports & Media AG ’s coverage of the Men’s EHF Euro . As well, the CONCACAF W Gold Cup?started this month, keeping us busy on two continents in January alone. As well, we’re continuing our work with the Ligue de Football Professionel (LFP) on our home turf here in France, which we enjoy for another season.

Broadcast Academy Updates

The Broadcast Academy's last Live Sports Direction course was held in Wokingham, UK in November, and was led by sports broadcast legend John Watts. We’re pleased to announce that our next Broadcast Academy event, taking place in Boulogne-Billancourt, France (in French) 25-29 March, is already full! What’s Going on at the HBS Office

In the past few months, our team has been busy with internal events, including a Climate Fresk , informative cancer awareness webinars, and a special volunteering event to feed those in need around the holidays. In January, we celebrated the French tradition of eating “Galettes des Rois” in support of Tombée du Nid, a charity that supports families with children with disabilities.

We’re looking forward to a Migration Fresk organised by the non-profit Kabubu, which aims to promote inclusion of exiled individuals, and plan to share about our next internal events on our LinkedIn page, so stay tuned!
