In October, members of the Gender Parity Collaborative — senior leaders from across the healthcare and life sciences industries — gathered for the group’s annual Global Council meeting, the primary purpose of which was to prioritize areas of focus 2024.
One of the main topics of the day was the evolution of the GPC itself. Following listening tours earlier in the year by HBA?CEO Mary Stutts and Senior Director, Global Head of the GPC, Marsha Anderson, the group is getting a new name and an updated scope of work. Beginning in 2024, the GPC will become the Gender Equity Think Tank, or GETT; GETT will build on the successful, executive-level convenings the Collaborative was known for, adding an emphasis on data-driven action and accountability. GETT will be the only think tank focused on accelerating gender equity in the life sciences industry, specifically.
Over the course of the meeting, Stutts shared additional highlights from her listening tour. Attendees also heard from Dr. Randal Pinkett of BCT Partners , the GPC’s new data partner, about the process for global data collection and analysis moving forward, which will allow members around the globe to benchmark progress against others in their immediate cohort. Dr. Pinkett shared a sample of potential areas within which BCT Partners will generate insights and evaluate impact, including (but not limited to):
