HAZRAT MUHAMMAD RAMZAN DAR SAHIB ???? ???? ???? – THE GREAT QALANDAR, SUFI & MENTOR OF GREAT KASHMIRI SUFI POET HAZRAT SAMAD MIR SAHIB ???? ???? ????

Kashmiri Sufism is a unique and continuously fascinating religious tradition that is an important part of the vast landscape of the Kashmir Valley and its unique cultural heritage. This Sufism is based on a combination of Islamic Sufism and local religious practices. It began in the early centuries of the Islamic era, when the teachings of Sufi teachers reached the Kashmir Valley. But this is where Kashmiri Sufis lived. His story, experiences, and philosophy have a certain romance and charm that make him famous all over the world.

Kashmiris play a key role in the history and development of Sufism through the ages. During the 14th century in Islamic history, Kashmiri Sufism made its first steps in the valley with the conquest of Sultan Sikandar. Despite early opposition from religious authorities, Sufism served to raise the standard of secularism.

Among the great figures of Kashmiri Sufis are Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani ???? ???? ???? ?or Nand Rishi ???? ???? ???? and Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom ???? ???? ???? ?or Sultan al-Arifin ???? ???? ????. His writings, growing in local literature and arts, had a great impact on the traditions and teachings of Kashmir. Publishing and economics play an important role in the philosophy and practice of Kashmiri Sufism. It is based on love, devotion, and a love of connection with God. In this religious tradition, the search for personal salvation is based on the basic values of humanity. The influence of the music and art of Kashmiri Sufism is also great. He also has control over his national music, Sufism, Kashmiri art, and architecture. Even today, Kashmiri Sufism remains an important and living material in the face of Islamic intellectual movements and social concerns. Peace, acceptance, and universal love are central to his message.

Keeping this Kashmiri Sufism alive and well, a Sufi and Qalander was born in a village called "Anchidora" in the Anantnag district of Kashmir. He brought many people out of the darkness & turned them to the light of truth. If we study the history of Anchidora, we come to know that Anchidora has already been a centre of Sufi saints, in which personalities like Hazrat Nagrishi Sahib ???? ???? ???? and Hazrat Ghafoor Sahib ???? ???? ???? spread their Sufi teachings and taught people about religion & introduced them to Islam. One of these Sufis, Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????, is remembered by common people as "Hazrat Ramzan Saab ???? ???? ????".

Hazrat Ramzan Sahib ???? ???? ????'s original name was Muhammad Ramzan Dar ???? ???? ????, but in the common people's language, he is remembered as Ramzan Saab ???? ???? ????. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? was a native of Anchidora and spent his entire life in Anchidora. Thus, we cannot say anything about the date of birth of Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????; however, it is said that his total age has passed 70 years. Therefore, we can say that his date of birth must have been in 1290 Hijri, according to 1874 AD, but this is a guess, and the guess may be wrong. If there is something wrong with this history, please help me to correct it. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? was born in a farmer's house. It is said that his father was a big zamindar of Anchidora, and Ramzan Sahib ???? ???? ???? himself also used to work as a zamindar. Apart from this, Hazrat Ramzan Sahib ???? ???? ???? also had many livestock, including more than a hundred sheep, goats, cows, and buffaloes.

It is said that Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? also got a vast land on which he used to live his daily life by farming. Whatever grain they got from it, they used to distribute a part of it to the poor and needy. It is also said that Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? had many store-like rooms known as "Kuchh" in Kashmiri for storing grains. They used to keep their grain in these stores and later distribute it to the poor and needy. Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? was a hardworking person who loved to work hard and earn with his hands.

Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? acquired knowledge of Sufism and religion in his childhood. It is said that he was fond of acquiring knowledge in his childhood and felt a thirst for knowledge in his childhood. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? got the knowledge of Sufism from many mentors, but the one from whom he got the knowledge of reality was Hazrat Abdul Ghaffar Sahib ???? ???? ????. It is said that Hazrat Ghaffar Sahib ???? ???? ???? was a resident of Teilwani village in Anantnag. He was a Sufi elder of high rank who had access to the knowledge of Sufism. Hazrat Ghaffar Sahib ???? ???? ????'s tomb is located in Yesu Anantnag, where pilgrims keep coming and going. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? had access to the knowledge of Shariat and Tariqat. He used to stay ahead regularly to perform prayers, zakat, fasting, and other religious matters. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? had attained a high position in the field of Sufism due to his austerity and piety. With which lineage Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? was associated, they cannot say anything; however, when I read the life of Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ????, I saw that he related to the lineage of Kubrawi, and when he came to Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????, he was then looking for a peer and mentor of the same chain. That's why it can be said that Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? related to the Kubrawi chain and used to exhort his disciples to his teachings. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? was also known as "Batan Bidar” because it is said that his inner eye was so bright that he was aware of the conditions of another place wherever he sat. All this is the favour of Allah Ta'ala, that when He informs a servant of His unseen, He gives him knowledge of it. The character of Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? emerged as a prominent personality, but the circumstances of the time left him behind and forgot his character.

Apart from his native mureeds, some mureeds lived in other cities besides Anantnag, among which the names of Jinab Ghulam Rasool Khanday (Rasoul Khand), Abdul Rahim Butt, and Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? (Nambalhaar) are worth mentioning. Out of all of them, the name of Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? is very famous, and his poetry is heard throughout Kashmir.

The first meeting of Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? and Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? is very interesting. It is said that the first teacher of Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? was Hazrat Wasta Khaliq Najjar Sahib ???? ???? ????. He awakened the spark of Sufism in the chest of Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ????, but after some time, Hazrat Khaliq Najjar Sahib ???? ???? ???? left this mortal world. Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? had already acquired the knowledge of Sufism through the method of Kubrawi. After that, Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? was very restless because he needed a leader and a mentor to ignite the spark in his chest. After that, Jinab Ahmad Butt Sahib ???? ???? ???? said to Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? that you should perform Bayyah with him because he related to Hazrat Khaliq Chan Sahib ???? ???? ???? before Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ????. But Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? did not understand this, and by denying his words, he continued to look for a new mentor who is related to the Kubrawi lineage and who has access to the knowledge of Sufism. After some time of this search, he comes to know about Hazrat Muhammad Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????, a Sufi elder of Andora (Anchidora), Islamabad, and he goes to him. Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? reaches and discusses with him, and he realizes that whatever he is looking for, he will get it from Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????. After that, Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? lived with Hazrat Muhammad Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? till his last age and acquired the knowledge of Sufism and reached the truth.

It is said that Hazrat Ramzan Sahib ???? ???? ???? passed away at the age of 60 or 70 years from this Dar-e-Farni. If we talk about the date of death, it is 1360 Hijri, corresponding to 1944 AD. If you find any mistake on this date, please correct me and provide me with the correct disclaimer. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ???? was buried in his native village, Bonmohalla Anchidora Anantnag, over which his followers later built a dome. If we talk about its construction, first it was built with raw bricks and grass, which was changed later by his grandson, Jinab Muhammad Shaban Dar Sahib, who built a new one and built it in a modern style. Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib’s ???? ???? ???? shrine was looked after by his grandson Jinab Mohammad Shaban Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????, but after his death, his son and his grandson took over the responsibility and are looking after it.

Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib???? ???? ???? is celebrated with great devotion and respect every year in the month of July. Thousands of people attend this Urs. In this Urs Mubarak, Mehfil Sama is also organized, in which the poetry of Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? is also sung, which adds to the excitement of this event. People from other social groups also participate in this gathering and pay their respects to Aastaan Aliya. If it is said, it will not be out of place that the value that should be given to this personality has not been done by any human being. If we look at his blessed self, the great poet Hazrat Samad Mir Sahib ???? ???? ???? has been left behind by this great mentor, Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????. Until today, his situation remained hidden from the eyes of the common people, and no one dared to write anything about this Qalandar and Dervish-like personality, by which the common people also gained some knowledge about this great personality. Therefore, it can only be said that we should value personalities with whom our identity is connected and because of whom Kashmir is known. May Allah Ta'ala illuminate the grave of Hazrat Ramzan Dar Sahib ???? ???? ????, his disciples, raise his ranks, and grant us the ability to write and speak the truth. (Ameen)
