The Hazards of Superficiality

Looking at the majority of posts that people make on social media, one could believe that they are having a wonderful life. People going on great vacations, they have the perfect job, everything is going absolutely perfect in all areas of their lives.
However, in reality this is not the case. The level of mental illness issues has increased, jobs are stressful and not without challenges, self esteem and personal confidence is low for many individuals.
Could it be that the majority of people will only post the good news on social media, or even when having conversations with others? Are we being superficial in our relationships, our communications with others? I think so.
When all that we talk about is how great our lives are, we begin to ignore the areas of our lives that need to be dealt with. We are not always doing perfect in all areas of our lives.
By facing the areas of our lives that need improvement, we are helping ourself and others. We are saying that we are not perfect, that we are learning more about ourself, and that each day has new challenges.
This does not mean we should share EVERYTHING about ourself, our lives, and our relationships on social media or in conversations with everyone.
Find a trusted individual that can help you with those challenges. A therapist, a spiritual leader, a professional coach, a counselor.
Work on the areas that need to be worked on.
Explore the areas of your life that can benefit from learning.
Until next week,
