On 6 May 1954, Roger Bannister became known as the first man to run the ‘unachievable’ four-minute mile. His achievement of running four miles in 3:59.4, is often quoted as one of the inspiring moments in sport.
The race in Oxford has also become a symbol of human potential and achievement, despite his record being beaten just 46 days later.
At the start of another busy week, it may be worth taking a little time to think about our own achievements and future potential - and understand how we can recognise them in other people too.
