It is not about having more control with money

I hope that you have all had an amazing summer.
So many of my clients come to me asking for help with their money because they want to be more in control.?
“I want to be in control of money”
“I want to have more control with money”
I bet many of you have experienced clients saying this during your client meetings. I have found myself using these expressions from time to time.?
Let’s imagine for a moment, that money was a person and you were talking it out to dinner. Wouldn’t it be a warmer, more romantic experience if we relaxed and were open to receive whatever were to happen that evening?
So why do so many of our clients want to control money?
Having control over somebody or something is really a smoke screen for wanting to feel safe.?
We want to feel more in control because we want to feel safe.?
We often confuse control with choices, or control with safety.?
The more we try to control something, the more out of control we become.?
So how would it be for your clients, if they stopped trying to control and just let go.?
So I invite you to explore some questions with them this week:
“What does being in control mean to you?”
“If there were an underlying feeling attached to control that you are seeking more of, what would it be?”
“The opposite of control is what?”
“What does that look like?”
“What do you need to do next to create this for yourself?”
Love Catherine x?
