I think having a great mentor is a precious gift and it can completely change your life.
A good mentor will:
1. push you harder than you expected
2. guide you with better questions
3. expect continuous improvement
4. dare you to dream big
5. challenge assumptions
6. be a lifelong student
7. appreciate self-taught mentees
8. teach you how to think, not what to think
Do you have a mentor? have you ever been a mentor to anyone? which of these eight points do you find more important? anything to add?
I look forward to reading different experiences and perspectives...

3 年Thank you Fabio! This is very prescient: I am writing my executive coaching and mentoring profile! These are all excellent points; I am especially drawn to appreciating self taught people. We all know the world is unfair and bias is the default. Amazing people are routinely excluded from opportunity due to often unconscious bias; innate to the functioning of the human brain!??????

3 年For me, the most important item is #4 (dreaming big). This is a difficult exercise in our minds, often limited by fear and self-judgment that never stops.
