Having a dinner party this weekend?

Last week the DeliPair team offered you three suggestions of great wines to pair with Delia’s  Boeuf Bourguignon recipe.

This week we are doing it the other way around. We have been working with Edinburgh’s ‘own’ Vino wine shop to identify a couple of particularly great wines. DeliPair’s contribution is to suggest half a dozen recipes which are the ideal match for these wines.

Hopefully you will find the ideal food & wine combination from the twelve suggestions below - if you are entertaining this weekend.

Vino’s wine recommendation #1: Pablo Y Walter Malbec, Argentina - £9.95 (Great value for money)

Although this wine is a red wine it is a great fit for fish dishes - as the last three recipes show.

Recipes:

#1 Venison cottage pie

#2 Meat Mountain Stack Pancakes

#3 Soba Noodles with Peanut Sauce

#4 Brill cooked on the bone with sea vegetables and mash

#5 Seafood stew (bourride)

#6 Squid-ink-battered halibut with Thai green emulsion

Vino’s wine recommendation #2: Fritz Willi Riesling, Germany - £12.95 (Modern one)

Recipes:

#1 Beef fillet with chicory and blue cheese salad and celeriac chips

#2 Caramelised onion, goats' cheese and Parma ham pizza

#3 Martin Clunes' Mallorcan paella

#4 Mini Masala Dosas

#5 Carrot Cake Quinoa Truffles

#6 Sardines with chickpeas, lemon & parsley
