We conduct Training programs for all our New Managers. The usual topics and activities. This time, I wanted to try something different, and we did. They loved it! they were 200% engaged and the feedback is overwhelming.

This is what we did......

Each attendee would write a small case study about a challenge that he was facing. This would then be shared with the attendees. The Manager with the problem (Let us call her X) would then be questioned by the audience, to get more details about the problems and the steps he has taken so far. Then the audience will brainstorm for 10 minutes and come up with suggestions to beat the challenge. X would then give her feedback about the suggestions and thank the audience.
Every attendee took his turn to be X and everyone joined in the probing and coaching. I was really amazed at the suggestions that came forth. Trust me, they could give any consultant a desperate run for his money.
