Marketers are now looking for smart ways to achieve their desired marketing goals & objectives. Efficiently executing marketing strategies without using technology as a supporting factor is a difficult task. This is where MarTech comes into the picture.
MarTech deals with a blend of marketing and technology, coming up with tools to create and execute marketing strategies while taking the entire customer cycle into consideration. Some of their tools include email marketing, SEO, social media, CRM, project management and drones amongst others.
Drones are often an underestimated video-recording device. However, there is more to it than what meets the eye. In fact, drones can be the star of your marketing campaigns.
Massive organizations often look forward to adding the latest technologies to have a competitive edge. Drones are one of those technologies. Amazon uses them for delivery, BBC for aerial photography, while DHL for delivery of pharmaceuticals to the remote areas. Adopting this technology is an expensive affair, and it probably won’t fit within the budget for many companies. But companies who can afford this, can gain great results through drones.
Have you added drones to your MarTech stack yet? If not, here’s why you should: :
Creativity Using Drones
Creativity gives marketers a competitive edge, making sure the brand stands apart from the market noise. Drones bring in innovation by enhancing your content through aerial advertising in a less expensive fashion out of the many other options.
When done right, drones can be a powerful means of performance art that will leave a lasting impression of your brand.
Drones as Actors
In the very beginning, drones were just used for military purposes. Later, Marketers took advantage of the modernity of drones, utilizing them as a climax factor in video commercials.
For example, Amazon used drones for their commercials and launched a video in 2013 to create buzz around their still-to-come Prime Air service. This strategy of Amazon added excitement to their target audience and elevated its marketing campaign than ever before.
Support Your Campaigns With Drones
Drones are readily available, and this can help you cut down the time taken to reach your target audience. With the help of drones, marketers can add new perspectives to their campaigns apart from typical advertisements without long delays which eases out the marketing process.
Data obtained from drones about traffic generated and footfalls created in an outdoor marketing campaign can undercut the company demographics and even current marketing strategies. In such cases, marketers should be ready with modified campaign responses. Wherever possible, location data can be used to target campaigns more narrowly.
Here is a case study of how- NV Energy & Avisight used Drones for getting desired results.
NV Energy & Avisight worked in collaboration with NIAS, Drone America, and the Desert Research Institute to combine drone technology with increased workplace safety. In 2016, they first announced the use of drones to help inspect power lines.
Chris Walach, Director of Operations at NIAS, has shared his enthusiasm with the success of the drones in this market, stating problems were discovered along the forty-mile surveyed stretch.
Conclusion
Drones are no longer just a fad - they are here to stay. The efficiency benefits have made drones attractive and useful for a broad spectrum of business functions. We are now just touching the tip of the iceberg in terms of harnessing the real power of drones for business operations, and new ways of conducting business.
Marketers can have the upper hand as compared to their competitors by adding drones as a new tool to their MarTech stack. The general consensus is that drones are here to stay, so in the coming years expect to see more marketers fly high.

4 年Drones are great addition to martech solutions.. Well written Ashima Kakar, I have been seeing this air show sort of marketing in a lot of events these days. Though there are restrictions to fly drones based on regions, it still is a great addition to marketing ideas.
