Have you thought that you might need to practice writing before you write a book?

Have you thought that you might need to practice writing before you write a book?

Have you thought that you might need to practice writing before you write a book?

No one ever got good at something without practice, did they?

Athletes practice their sport – swimming, running, throwing, jumping, lifting – before they go and qualify for events and win medals.

My daughter is a gymnast and she practices with her coaches five and a half hours a week (and she’s supposed to do more in her own time…) She gets sore muscles and gets a bit anxious but this last weekend she did her beam routine in front of a judge and she didn’t fall off! We had a masking tape line down on the carpet of her bedroom so she could practice (as well as you can practice when you don’t own a beam!)

But it was unthinkable to her that she could show up and be judged (Is that what readers do when they read your book? Sometimes your brain might make you think so…) without practicing.

And not just the routines. She needed to develop the strength in her arms and shoulders, in her core. She needed to develop her flexibility and practice to pointing her toes and keeping her legs straight.

All of this she needed to practice. And she practices not because she is really good at self-motivating and working out at home but because she has two hour slots in the diary three times a week to practice under the watchful eye of her coaches.

The Write Now Experiment is a place where you can practice your writing. Where you can get your writing habit in place so that when you do decide to go for it and write a book, your brain is used to writing each week.

The habit is created in The Write Now Experiment.

I hold space for you to write for six hours a week, 50 weeks of the year (we have a couple of weeks off at Christmas).

300 hours of time to write.

Even if you only wrote 500 words an hour, you could write 150,000 words over the next year if you came to all 300 hours (that’s about three books!)

That’s a big commitment for sure.

(And there aren’t many people who come to all three sessions each week. Maybe some weeks but not every week.)

But what if you considered it an experiment.

The Write Now Experiment.

Where you committed to writing something every week, where you committed to showing up to write once a week for up to two hours in community with other writers, from the comfort of your own home.

No need to keep on paying for another coffee every 45 minutes in that café that you go to each week to try to write. (Maths…2 coffees at £3 each for a two-hour session in a café times 50 weeks equals £300…)

And you get to write under the watchful eye of a trained illustrated non-fiction book editor and publishing consultant who can dig up a writing prompt at the drop of a hat in case you want to write but don’t know what you want to write, and you can ask questions in the chat box of the Zoom.

So – there’s no sales page.

But what I do know is that if you show up every week for 50 weeks you will write 50,000 words.

Can you imagine writing 50,000 words in the next year without this sort of support?

Can you imagine what it could be?

50 blogs.

A book.

250 social media posts.

Can you imagine how you could powerfully write these words and how many lives you could touch through your writing?

How many people you could help?

And how that could turn into income for you?

Write Now sessions are fun.

The support to turn up to write each and every week?

Writing in community and the same energy as others?

It’s powerful.

And it clears the way for all the other things you’d love to do more of in your business if you know you’ve got a commitment to turn up to write every week.

That newsletter to your list will never be written at the last minute again.

Here’s the info.

It’s simple really.

We write together

Monday nights 8–10pm GMT/BST #teamnightowl

**actually if you want to write in the company of one of my US clients until 11pm you can #truenightowls

Tuesdays 11am–1pm GMT/BST #teaminbetweeners

Wednesday mornings 6–8am GMT/BST #teamearlybird

We meet on Zoom.

We have a bit of a dance to get ourselves in the mood.

We set our intentions for what we will accomplish that session.

Writing prompts are available if you need or want them.

And we write.

Post a link to your blog, best post of the week in a weekly post in our community Facebook group for your Write Now Experiment friends to come and support your writing and I’ll highlight a few each week in our weekly writing round up.

All of this for £199.

Yes, you read that right.

If you bought two coffees a week as you worked in a café, that would cost you £300.

Usually Write Now is a £40 per month subscription.

Usually, it’s £480 for this accountability.

And that’s the price that it will return to on Friday 7th October.

But for now the Write Now Experiment is yours for £199 for the whole year.

That’s it. No more to pay.

You can get this price until Friday only.

It’s an absolute no brainer.

You can start writing with us from Monday.

This could be the year that you are consistent with your posting on social media.

This could be the year that you write a blog every week.

This could be the year that you’re not on the 20th of the month thinking “I’ve not written my monthly newsletter, when am I going to find time to do that in the next week?”

This could be the year that you set down the writing habit foundations that would mean that you can write and publish your book.

I’m so excited to welcome new writers and authors into our lovely friendly group.
