Have You Set Up Your Job Search To Be Fast Or Slow?

Most job seekers wish that your job search went faster ... while few want it to go slow.

But almost no job seekers stop to consider if you've set up your job search to be fast or slow.

Instead, when you want your job search to be faster, you've been taught to do more of what keeps it slow, wondering why that's not working.

Here are a few changes to get started making your job search faster:

  1. Have A Plan: Most job seekers have a list, a callback calendar and a definition of their target job. This isn't a plan - a day-by-day. week-by-week, month-by month list of activities and benchmarks, leading you to a specific goal date. You know what they say about when you fail to plan ...
  2. Heavily Customize Your Resume For Each Individual Opportunity: Yes, you won't be able to apply to as many opportunities, but you'll get through ATSs more often and land more interviews.
  3. Get Better Employer Information: You gain zero advantage by using publicly available information, and it rarely reflects an individual hiring manager's current needs. To make your job search faster, find inside information to determine what an individual hiring manager needs now. BTW, published job descriptions are written by HR, written generically to cover many similar types of jobs, and were written on average a year ago. Hiring managers communicate their current search criteria to recruiters, to use as the real search criteria, usually 50%+ different than published criteria.

How many of these changes are you using in your job search??

You'd already be using these if you knew how ... And you'd also be using additional changes that I'll describe during my next free Resume Webinar - Accelerate Your Job Search.

Great article for job seekers!Phil Rosenberg ?I also wanted to share my experience with an amazing chrome extension F1 Hire,? it looks into the job descriptions, and saves the job seeker's time. It does a great job in profile matching and sponsorship extraction. Highly recommended.
