Have you run out of ideas for writing posts?

How to overcome writer’s block

One of the most efficient and proven ways of becoming a known talent in your field of expertise is by sharing your knowledge with your connections and followers on LinkedIn. When you started, the first few posts came to you naturally. Nothing stopped you, words spilled onto the screen. You received many invitations to connect, follow you, invites for a coffee, and even job offers or collaborations requests.

Until one day, you found yourself sitting in front of your LinkedIn newsfeed, scrolling post by post, and could not find inspiration on what to write next. You did not despair and opened a new document. It shined brightly because it was so empty. You wrote a line and delete, wrote a paragraph, and then deleted it again. You could feel how time goes by, and nothing happened.

You began to feel desperate, and you heard this voice in your head that doubted your ability to produce new content. All the wonderful ideas you planned to share and show the world that you were an expert in your field, suddenly became irrelevant to you...

So, what are you going to do? How to overcome writer’s block?

If I ask you a question in your area of expertise, wouldn’t you know the answer?

Luckily, there are websites that analyze every topic in the world and present the questions people ask on search engines about those topics. We can search for keywords that are relevant to your field of expertise, go through the list of questions according to their prevalence on search engines, and start writing posts addressing these questions.

Let's take LinkedIn for example. Questions like: “What LinkedIn skills to add”, “What LinkedIn premium offers”, “When LinkedIn was founded”, “How the LinkedIn algorithm works”, etc.

So how do you find these questions?

I use the following sites that are originally intended to improve the site's search engine ranking (SEO):

ahrefs.com Keyword Generator

ahrefs.com allows you to find relevant keywords from the database of over 8 billion queries. Just enter up to 10 words or a phrase and select the most frequently asked questions you can answer in the Questions’ tab.

Note that you should check the “I'm not a robot” checkbox, otherwise you will not get any results.

Here is an example of a post I wrote after finding a question that I knew I could answer and provide valuable insights as well as added value:

Translated to English:

Neil Patel Ubersuggest

Ubersuggest is a free tool from the digital marketing guru, Neil Patel. Enter a keyword in the search bar and you will receive a rich information dashboard. On the side menu, you will find ‘Content Ideas’. Clicking on it will show related content about the topic.

Answer The Public

One of the best sources for finding questions that interest your audience.

Note that in the free account you are limited to one query per day, so think carefully about the topic you are enquiring about. You can download the query results as a CSV file and open it in Excel.

Now you have hundreds of questions to answer and produce content forever (or at least for the upcoming year). In addition to the questions, the site shows what people compare, such as social selling vs. social marketing, keywords (prepositions) – all can be sorted by the alphabet and related topics.

This is a great article Itzik, came over here on the link from Brenda Meller ??’s post earlier ??. Really brilliant tips and links in article?? One of the things I do for ideas is to keep notes on the go on my phone and then when I’m sitting down to go through them, to see if they can be expanded out into a worthwhile post. Have a great start of the week tomorrow and a great week ahead ??
