The students were amused as they saw the professor entering the class with a glass jar and a bag full of rocks, pebbles, and sand. He then began to fill the jar with rock pieces, until he couldn’t add more.
He asked students, “Is the jar full?”?
And as expected, students nodded yes.
Upon this, he started pouring pebbles inside the jar filled with rock. The students were surprised to see the pebbles running through the empty spaces in the jar.
He then asked again if the jar was full?
And, students concluded that it is.
Though, the professor didn’t stop at this. He began pouring sand which slides through the minute gaps, and said, “NOW IT’s FULL!!!”?
He lifted up the jar to show it to the class and added, “See, this is how you should set priorities in life”?Further, pointing at the jar, he said,?
Rock is like your aspirations – HIGHEST PRIORITY
Be it a dream to be a scientist or an artist, like a rock, you must believe in your dreams and keep chasing them.

Pebbles are like your dedication – SECOND HIGHEST PRIORITY
If your dreams are as firm as a rock, like pebbles, you will find a way to carve a path for yourself.

Sand is like your fears – LEAST PRIORITY!
If you pour sand first, the jar will be FULL in no time, leaving hardly any space for rocks and pebbles. This same thing happens with students when they let their fears define their path.

Always remember your highest priority is to dedicate yourself to bringing your aspirations to the highest pedestal. When you identify your priorities in life, you never look down on the fear of failing or let it overwhelm you.
