Day 4 of 8 - The EXPAND? Method

I know, I know. We hear the word “alignment” these days as often as we change underwear - probably more!?

But, keep an open mind as you read about ALIGNMENT in terms of how this energy is either going to make or break EVERYTHING you’ve got going for you!?

This part of The EXPAND? Method focuses on three key areas of your company/brand growth–areas that are often overlooked or pushed aside, because “there are more pressing things” to figure out.?

I get it. I did that for a long time, too. I focused on all other areas of EXPAND, but let this one slide for too long. And when I decided to double down on it, everything shifted for us, across ALL THE OTHER AREAS in The Expand? Method.?

What are the three areas of ALIGNMENT, specifically?

  • Brand Culture - When you succeed at creating a brand culture that displays certain common characteristics PUBLICLY, you’ll have a cohesive “feel and vibe” to the brand, and you’re more likely to outperform your competition over time. A strong brand culture helps you generate higher margins, drive customer advocacy and loyalty, attract the right talent (team), and develop key alliances for strategic growth.??
  • Brand Values - Your brand values are the core set of guiding principles that shape every aspect of your business. They are the beliefs that you stand for. Brand values determine your brand's identity, message, and personality. These brand principles guide the narrative, your actions and behaviors, and all decision making.?
  • Your Leadership Style - Your leadership style is how you lead –both yourself, your team, and the vision of the brand/company. This is key to deeply understanding what your team needs from you on a daily basis, as a leader.?

When we work with our Joyful CEO? students on ALIGNMENT we are specifically helping them identify WHO THEIR BRAND wants to grow up to be. And then we make sure to include this everywhere in the marketing, the strategic positioning, and the internal structure, and day to day happenings of the business.?

The main mistakes in this part of expanding your business usually happen here:

  • You avoid the deep work required to align your growth for THE FUTURE of the business.

In other words, you are bogged down day to day of the business, and brand culture, values, and your leadership style almost always get pushed to the back burner.?

  • You don’t realize that your Leadership Style may actually be hurting your team, your decision making, and how people perceive you.?

What's come up for me on Day #4 is that my values are defined, I know what we stand for -- yet, I feel like I could integrate them more deeply (within) and publicly to benefit the business and create connection with my ideal clients.
