Have you heard of Threads?
Threads, an Instagram app. Have you heard of it?
Words by Max Hobson
Instagram Threads is a social media platform developed by Meta, the same tech giant that owns Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. It's closely integrated with Instagram but extends its strengths into the text domain. In simple terms, it's Instagram's version of Twitter...
Although Threads mirrors the familiar layout of Twitter, it is designed as a more "sensibly" managed alternative, creating a positive space for expressing ideas, or in the case of real estate agents... value!.
Users can post comprehensive content, up to 500 characters, including links, images, videos, and even gifs. Videos can be up to 5 minutes long, offering great flexibility. You can follow other accounts, like posts, repost content, and send posts through direct messages.
It's also really easy to sign up, if you've already got an Instagram account. We will get onto that later.
Threads should be your go to platform for posting value content, quick fire tips and tricks for sellers and buyers and short form video content of your listings.
Why Should Agents Use Instagram Threads?
In our fast-paced industry, prompt responses can make a difference. Threads allow you to reply promptly and efficiently.
The platform supports links, gifs, videos, and photos, offering diverse options for content sharing. This can be particularly useful for showcasing properties and sharing real estate tips with clients.

However, Threads may not be suitable for large-scale marketing campaigns just yet, and managing multiple social media apps can be time-consuming.
It's easy to sign up
1. Download the Threads app from the App Store or Play Store
2. Open the Threads app and tap the "Log in with Instagram" button to sign in with your Instagram account.
3. Tap the "Import from Instagram" button to import your profile info from Instagram, or enter your bio, link, and profile picture manually.
4. Choose a public or private profile. I recommend a public profile.
5. Follow people from your Instagram list, I suggest you bulk follow all your followings.
