News from our planting sites

Planting season has begun!

We kicked off this season by planting 66,000 native seedlings at Warralakin, on Kalaamaya Country (WA), and completed five urban forest plantings. We are also set to support 13 community projects and plant 287,000 native seedlings over 400 hectares in regional and community areas.

We will plant a further 16 hectares of salt land rehabilitation at our Brookton site, on Ballardong Noongar Country (WA). In partnership with the Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management Noongar Boodja Rangers, 18,000 salt-tolerant native seedlings will be planted.

Our projects create real-life, on-the-ground, practical action.

At the end of June, we planted 5,500 native seedlings at our Talbot site on Ballardong Noongar Country (WA), with the assistance of volunteers from the RACWA team. This project aims to increase bird habitat, particularly for the endangered Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo. A big thank you to all the RACWA volunteers.

Carbon Positive Australia in the news

We are excited to announce that Carbon Positive Australia is a finalist for the Impact 100 grant! Our mission to plant trees and restore land has expanded to include Miyawaki tiny forests, and we are looking to increase capacity for this initiative.

This innovative planting method offers a powerful solution for urban greening, complementing traditional street trees. We are advocating for the inclusion of Miyawaki forests in urban greening plans to enhance our cities’ green spaces and foster a healthier environment for all.

Can Tiny Forests help reduce urban heat?

Watch our most recent free webinar, in which four forest makers across Australia teach us about the incredible benefits that these forests offer to communities and the environment.
