Have You Experienced OpenAI’s GPT-4o?

ChatGPT-5 drops Monday, May 20th. Me and my fellow Canadians will be celebrating the Victoria Day long weekend. I will be dipping in to check the upgrade which I imagine will be available at a premium rate considering they just launched its GPT-4o, don’t quote me on this.

The "o" stands for "omni," highlighting its versatile functionality across text, speech, and video modalities. This new model surpasses its predecessor, GPT-4 Turbo, in capability, efficiency, and affordability.

4o is designed to enhance OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot and API, providing developers with powerful tools to leverage its advanced features. The model is accessible to free and paid users. so why pay? As I mentioned ChatGPT-5 will drop on May 20th.

I believe OpenAI is building on the release of ChatGPT-5 and Sora, but not until all that red-teaming is sorted. Sora needs to fly! And so she shall once all the basic bad guys are locked in a cage through red-teaming.

Back to 4o. The key advancements include a significant boost in processing speed, a 50% reduction in costs, quintupled rate limits, and expanded language support for over 50 languages. This rollout will commence with ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with plans to extend to enterprise clients.

Users began experiencing GPT-4o with usage limits. Soon OpenAI will enhance ChatGPT's voice and video capabilities, intensifying the competitive landscape with other major voice assistants like Apple's Siri and Google Assistant.

GPT-4o improves user interaction making it more akin to conversing with a human assistant. It boasts real-time responsiveness and can adapt its voice in various emotive styles—even singing! Its enhanced vision capabilities enable it to answer queries about images or screen content, ranging from code analysis to identifying brands. As a GPT data analyst, I will no longer have to pay for ChatGPT-4 formally Code Interpreter.

Looking ahead, GPT-4o may soon offer live commentary on sports events and explain ongoing activities, showcasing its dynamic potential. Moreover, it promises double the speed and efficiency at half the cost of GPT-4 Turbo within OpenAI’s API and Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service.

During its demonstration, GPT-4o interpreted emotional cues from users' breathing patterns, offering advice for stress management. It also showcased its multilingual prowess by translating and responding to multilingual queries.

OpenAI's latest updates underscore the rapid progression in AI technology, blending enhanced multimodal capabilities into a singular, omni-functional platform that promises to redefine user interaction with AI tools. As we witness these advancements unfold, the impact of such technologies will be profound and far-reaching.
