Have you ever wondered how PV Solar reacts to snow fall?
Yesterday in North Carolina we had enough snow fall (around 3") to completely blanket a 3.5MW array, preventing any power generation. The attached graph shows the facility output and irradiance on the day of the snow fall, as well as the day after. You can see how the snow slides off the solar modules as the air temperature creeps above freezing, restoring the facilty to full generation capacity.

6 年Very cool! Would be interesting to know if coating the panels with Nano coating (example on TED talks) kind of like a sophisticated Rain-X significantly improves the timelines, and essentially has a ROI story...
