School governors are people who want to make a positive contribution to children’s education.
If you’d like be a part of this in your local area, the Costello School in Basingstoke is currently looking for community governors to strengthen its current Board of Governors.
Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. The role of the governing board is absolutely key to the effectiveness of a school.
If you have time (approx. 15 hours / month – mainly evening time) and any of the skills listed below we’d love to hear from you.
- an educational or industry background
- professional skills including HR / property and estate management / legal
- previously been a governor or have existing experience of charity law and governance
Most of our current governors already have links with the school (parents, staff etc) so ideally new governors would not have any direct links.
As a governor we will provide you with an induction and access to relevant (free) training. To find out more, please contact our Clerk, Jayne Humphrey via email [email protected]
