Have you ever walked past the Coconut Grove Library?

My bro Danny and I have. Many times. It took us until only a couple of years ago to realize someone is buried right off the sidewalk.

One day we discovered the grave of a pioneer by the name of Eva Munroe. What a way to be reminded how history is simply life. The stories of the many people who came before us. People who lived and loved just like us and just like we will, died. Died, perhaps despite being young, despite what ever aspirations they may have had, like Eva.

I've always been interested in history but after that fateful day we realized how little we actually knew about our own South Floridian community. So we fell headlong "into the rabbit hole" and learned many things about the people who set the foundation for the place we call home.

We learned about early pioneers, movers and shakers like of course the people who were here first, the ancestors of the Miccosukee, and the people who came after them, people like Eva's husband a remarkable man by the name of Ralph Munroe. And then we suddenly knew what film we wanted to make next. A film about humans dealing with something all too human...Grief.

My film 'Perchance to Dream' is streaming now on Youtube!
