Have You Ever Settled for 2nd Best?

Maybe you’ve not taken advantage of all the OPPORTUNITIES that life has presented to you over the years?

Perhaps sometimes you took the EASIER option in life, the SAFER option maybe?

I know I have

When my Dad died in 1994 I had the PERFECT opportunity to go contracting, but I didn’t

I didn’t want "all the upheaval" (whatever that means)

I didn’t want to "rock the boat" at work...

In truth when I look back now, I didn’t want to BELITTLE the struggle my Mum & Dad had financially, I mean how could I possibly earn THAT MUCH money per day?

It seemed OBSCENE the money you could earn as a contractor

I soon realised that working for a consultancy company I was being charged out at over ￡800 per day to willing clients

Then I started to think that there must be a better way of working, a better way of LIVING

Coming home to my contracting flatmate Pete each night he would often try and CONVINCE me to try contracting

But you know what it’s like when someone is trying to convince you of something, you often REBEL against whatever they are saying, even if it makes sense

Or is that just MY stubbornness?!

Once again I was tested (because in life I believe we are always challenged like this)

This time I didn’t settle for 2nd best, I realised I had to take CONTROL myself

I made the CHOICE and I took the LEAP

I was soon contracting and within a few months I was up to ￡400/day - I couldn’t believe it

Imagine how that would make YOU feel

Earning 4 times your previous salary in a matter of MONTHS

Life is all about CHOICES, but it’s also about realising where you are and where you want to be...
