Have you ever really seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show all the way through?

I'm in a group chat with some fun people. Anyway, the topic of RHPS (Rocky Horror Picture Show) randomly came up. A few admitted that they may have not seen the movie all the way through - and I totally related to that fact.

We had Tim Curry on the WMMR morning show one time and we structured the interview in a fun way. We asked zero questions about Rocky Horror Picture Show. Towards the end of the interview he was visibly shocked. Then he said, "I don't think anyone has ever interviewed me and not asked about the Rocky Horror Picture Show?"

We responded with wait, "You were in Rocky Horror Picture Show?" He laughed and the interview went on for an additional 20 minutes where he shared some stories that he'd never shared.

We did not plan on that benefit, but we knew that from his perspective he had to have been bored with one too many questions about that show.

So, remember that when you're interviewing people. Make it fresh and new.

Now, with the story in the rear view mirror. I asked my very close friend Cha T. Gpt to come up with an idea for a RHPS sequel. What do you think?

Title: Rocky Horror: Time’s Encore

Act 1 - New Beginnings: Scene 1: The story picks up a few years after the original. Brad and Janet, now married and with a child, have tried their best to forget the wild night at Dr. Frank-N-Furter's mansion. They've moved to a new town and live a very conservative life.

Scene 2: Their child, Alex, finds a peculiar old photograph of the castle and becomes infatuated with the mystery of it. Alex is a curious teenager, always looking for an adventure.

Scene 3: After a series of unusual events in town - a lightning storm on a clear day, mysterious shadows, and eerie songs in the wind - Alex and a group of friends decide to investigate the origins of the photo.

Act 2 - The Castle’s Echo: Scene 1: Alex and friends discover the remains of the castle. It's decayed but holds an eerie charm. They decide to explore, unaware of its history.

Scene 2: Riff Raff and Magenta appear, having returned from Transylvania. They've come back to revive Dr. Frank-N-Furter, believing that his genius was ahead of his time. They're seeking specific artifacts to complete the resurrection.

Scene 3: As the group explores the castle, they each encounter their own temptations and face their deepest desires, much like Brad and Janet did. It's a journey of self-discovery for each of them.

Act 3 - Time Warp Redux: Scene 1: The artifacts are found, and the resurrection ritual begins. But instead of reviving Frank-N-Furter, they accidentally summon a new entity – an even more eccentric and unpredictable version named Dr. Luna L'amour.

Scene 2: Dr. Luna, with a voice that can enchant anyone, convinces the town's people to embrace their wild side. The entire town gets caught up in a new version of the "Time Warp", more intense and entrancing than before.

Scene 3: Brad and Janet, recognizing the chaos, confront their past and use their experience to guide the town back to reality. With the help of Alex and friends, they manage to send Riff Raff, Magenta, and Dr. Luna back to their dimension.

Act 4 - Lessons From The Past: Scene 1: The town returns to normal, but with a newfound appreciation for individuality and self-expression. They set up a yearly festival to celebrate the wild night and ensure that the story of the castle is passed down.

Scene 2: Alex, having learned about the power of desire and the importance of self-awareness, decides to document the events in a book, ensuring that the lessons of the past aren't forgotten.

Scene 3: The story ends with Brad, Janet, and Alex looking at the castle ruins from a distance, reminiscing about the past but hopeful for the future.

The sequel would blend elements of mystery, self-discovery, and the classic campy fun that made the original so iconic. It would also delve deeper into themes of acceptance, the duality of human nature, and the timeless battle between restraint and indulgence.

Speak Truth to Power

Never saw it. Am aware of the film. Never wanted to sing along or join the crowd. A man from Hampton, Va. met Juilus Erving recently. He watched Dr. J play with the Virginia Squires in the early seventies. That led to an enjoyable conversation. Besides the fact Julius Erving is a great interview, he is rarely asked about that phase of his career.
