HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT SOME DAYS YOU FEEL FAT AND OTHER DAYS YOU DON’T?

These feelings have absolutely nothing to do with your size or shape, it is all down to your self-image.
Often, when you are feeling good or accepting about your body, you have a ‘skinny’ day.
Then when you are having a rubbish day, or maybe beating yourself up for overeating, you experience a ‘fat’ day.
And nothing you do on those days will make you feel better because you are stuck in a negative mindset.
The fact is that your self-image can change on a daily basis, depending on what is going on in other areas of your life.
Even other people can alter this - have you ever felt great and then some backhanded comment from an insensitive soul has affected your mood and confidence for the rest of the day?
Sometimes this just happens without you even knowing why.
When it does, it is important to acknowledge it with a neutral stance. Remember that it is just a feeling, it is not a reality and it has nothing to do with your weight - it is all down to how you perceive yourself.
One of the things I often get clients to do is to identify the triggers, they can then effectively re-frame their thoughts to instantly feel better.
Once you realise that the issue is not physical, you will be able to overcome it mentally. This can, in turn, positively impact your eating habits - you will avoid the usual ‘stuff it, I can’t feel worse..’ cycle.
A little bit of self-compassion goes a VERY long way!
