Have you ever heard about variable speed drives for electric motors?

Any idea how this amazing solution can help you out to improve your process productivity and quality, saving energy, with high level of connectivity?
A Variable Speed Drive (VSD) allows you to control your electric motor in a similar way as you control your manual gear car with combustion motor.
Using a stick gear shift you can reduce gear to get higher torque response or to apply engine break. At cruise speed, you can increase gear to optimize gas consumption. You can also go backwards by using reverse gear.
Having your electric motor controlled by a VSD allow you to get full torque at zero speed and to go to regenerative mode for quick stops while feeding energy back to your grid. You may soft start the motor ramping it up to nominal speed with minimum mechanical stress in your application. Once at nominal speed, a VSD will optimize power factor in your network and generate significant energy savings mostly when operating at partial load.
A VSD will deliver better motor control, improved and programmable performance with reduced noise level, improved reliability and, a way less CO2 emissions.
