Have You Ever Been Fired? - Discover How Emotional Intelligence Helped Me Navigate This Experience As A Recent Graduate From College!

Several years ago, I was working as a production assistant for the Wayne Brady Show.? As a production assistant, I was not only the first person at the office every day, but I had some of the hardest work to do amongst everyone within the production team.? I was also always one of the last people to leave the office each day.

To our surprise, after four months of taping the show, we received word from the network that the show was going to be canceled.? During this time, everyone in the office was very upset, but for me, I decided to have an optimistic perspective about our new circumstances.

However, because of this optimistic perspective, it resulted in my boss deciding to fire me and send me home because he felt that I had the wrong attitude about the situation.? In complete shock, I left the office, drove in horrible traffic, and contemplated how I was going to send a nasty email about how my boss treated me on the job.

At this moment, without knowing much about the theory behind it, I applied some principles of emotional intelligence, and watched my entire situation turn around.?? What seemed like the worst situation ever actually became a launching pad for great opportunities because of my emotional intelligence and how I responded to this situation.

To learn more about what I did and what transpired in my life as a result of emotional intelligence, I encourage you to take some time to watch the video below where I share this powerful story at a leadership conference with hundreds of student leaders in the Northwest about the power of leading with emotional intelligence.

Video of Powerful Emotional Intelligence Experience

After watching the video, if you believe that someone you know needs to hear this powerful message about being treated unfairly within the workplace, I encourage you to share it with them as a sign of encouragement that things will get better when they respond to the situation the right way.
