Have you even heard of GDPR?

Have you even heard of GDPR?

With all the noise over Brexit the introduction of the GDPR may have passed people by. Although 25th May 2018 is the actual legal implementation date as with any IT related issue people need to be thinking about it now.

GDPR covers the privacy of personal data, something almost every business holds on their systems.

The fines for non-compliance can be up to 4% of worldwide turnover and it is necessary to comply to do business with any company in the EU. Note for UK companies that this will be effective law before any Brexit and and in any event compliance will be required to continue to trade with EU.

I'm interested to hear from my network if they have heard of GDPR and what they are doing about it, if anything?

Yes. It's important and don't think Brexit will prevent you from addressing it.
