Words have power. Words have the power to give direction to the path of life.
Proverbs 18:20 says “Words satisfy the soul as food satisfies the stomach; the right words on a person’s lips bring satisfaction.”
I don’t know about you but I love the idea of choosing a word for the year because it helps bring focus and clarity to the life I want to create.
"Open the book of the new year. The pages are blank. We are going to add the words of our choice on them. The book is called "Abundance" and the first chapter is Creation." ~ Snehal R. Singh
It’s not late to choose one if you haven’t yet.
Besides, this isn’t about crossing another goal off your list, it’s about creating a mantra to help guide your daily actions and become a better version of yourself.
Here are a few tips to choose a Word -
1. Reflect - What can I have more of? What can I have less of? At the end of each day - how do I want to feel? It’s not about going in the past - however just asking yourself - what is it that makes me feel the best.
2. Visualize - Visualization is one of the best and easiest and time saver method to manifest the life we want, yet many don’t use it as often. Visualize what a perfect day “feels” like. Yes, the stress word is “Feeling”. You can meditate or even just close your eyes and be still. You’d be amazed how being still can help your intuition guide you, and bring your word to the forefront. (Trust me when I say this - The words would just start popping out if you let your intuition guide you)
3. List it Down - Spend 5 -10 mins and list whatever words come to your mind. Just write- let it flow. No self edits, no analysing - just let it flow.
4. Make a choice - Then choose 1 or even 3 words that call you the most. If you are like me you can choose 3 too... I chose 3 ??. You can even choose one word for each area of your life you want to focus on.
5. Are you interested, or are you committed? - if you are just interested- then close your book and go back to what you were doing. Yes, to create a life that you want - you need more than interest - You need commitment.
Write it down - in your journal, on your wall calendar ??, on post-it, mirrors wherever you feel you can see them often.
Tony Robbins says - “ Where focus goes, energy flows.”
I’ve realized that words help me stay focused, centred and make decisions too. It helps me stay in a balanced state of mind - most times of the day. I started this just 3 years ago. I also realized that I still want to continue with the words I had chosen the last 2 years. 2019 I had chosen - Action ... 2020 - Abundance and this year I am adding one “Serenity”
I also put it in a mantra that I can say just before I meditate or journal or even start any activity.
“ Every Serene Action Brings Abundance.”
Choose a word and declare it.
Write down your word/words and write below in sentence or two - how you would implement it in your daily life.
