Have you checked your ego lately? Your profile photo may tell all!

As I started to travel again (yeaaa), I figured I should update my photo on social media. Not that my last picture was old, under 3 years, but a lot has happened since. And truth be told, we do age faster as we get older. Urg!

Why did that matter? Because I aged. We all do! And as people see me in person, I hated the thoughts of people thinking, ‘Wow, she looks nothing like her photo!.’

What made me even consider this dilemma?

You see, when I looked at my last profile photo, I kept thinking about Match.com. Let me explain.

When I was on that dating site (yep I did that! met my husband there), meeting people that looked NOTHING like their match.com photo cracked me up. We didn’t use zoom back then to connect before we met—just the good old-fashioned phone.

I was always so curious when guys posted photos of years past. I so much wanted to ask, “Why would you choose to disappoint?”  My personal preference was to have the guy think WOW (she really looks like her photo).

Of course, now that I am a little older I must admit it is a bit harder. So, where does my ego stand right now? Honestly, it does not exactly make me proud. I hated changing my photo. However, I am so delighted to have hair again (yep, lost it all! Longer story!).

Aging is a good thing. We learn so much through the years. And, the alternative is far worse than some wrinkles!

Oh yes, and now, at least as people see me in person, they will recognize the face! Now, if I could just grow some eyebrows and eyelashes! Stay tuned.

Now that you know my ugly truth, how about you? Have you checked your ego lately?
