Have you been so busy making a living, that you forgot to make a life?

Have you been so busy making a living, that you forgot to make a life?

You’re working 60-hour weeks. The overtime too. You work as hard as you can, and as much as you can, to provide the best for your family. You come home late, eat convenience foods with little – or no – nutritional value, stumble into a shower, and collapse – exhausted – into bed. Because you want the best for your family…

Because you believe that it is your responsibility to provide for your family… Your duty

Then one morning you awake to realise that presents are no substitute for presence. Rather than providing for your family, you’ve been removing yourself from the equation. You are “married to your job“.

The damage has already been done. The damage to your relationships. Your health. Your confidence and self-esteem.

And all that you wanted was to provide the best for your family…

You’re not alone. According to figures recently published by The Health and Safety Executive, 15.4 million working days were lost due to work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2017/18. (*Health and safety at work Summary statistics for Great Britain, 2018).

I have been there..

My relationship with my eldest daughter’s mother disintegrated when she confronted me with being “married to my job”. Everything that I held dear was ripped from under my feet. My identity, my passion, my purpose. My FAMILY.

My health suffered – both mental and physical. I wasn’t eating properly, or at the right times. I found myself craving energy drinks and chocolate to fuel my body with the energy that I was denying it through my “diet”. I was becoming dependent upon caffeine to paper over the cracks of a lack of sleep – the constant lethargy a by-product of a lack of exercise and nutrition.

There was no light at the end of the tunnel.

You are conditioned to accept your lot in life. Don’t speak up. Don’t speak out. “Man up!” (Once, when I raised the topic of my work-life imbalance with my Regional Manager, his advice was for me to “leave” my wife! (Not his choice of words, might I add.)

Something HAS to change! If you do what you’ve always done, then you’ll get what you’ve always gotten, and that, after all, is Einstein’s definition of insanity. You see, when you’re out of balance, it has a ripple effect on all areas of your being: Nutrition, motivation, relationships, confidence, stress, sleep, energy and productivity – personal and professional.

I managed to extricate myself from the “hamster-wheel” existence. I now support professionals and high-achievers to realise a more fulfilling balance – empowering people just like you to do more of what you love, with who you love to do it with.

I synthesise confidence and clarity from stress and overwhelm.

It is possible to follow your passion.

I am.

You can too…

When I contacted Colin I was having serious problems in my life, my work was causing me a great deal of stress and I felt helpless in being able to tackle the situation.

The transformation has been dramatic , I am a far more confident and decisive person , I am more aware of my surroundings and how I can control my emotions in difficult situations.

I have a new enthusiasm for life and credit must go to Colin for helping that transformation to happen.

It’s all about the balance.

I recently attended an Adult Mental Health First Aider course and Colin was one of the trainers. He is incredibly knowledgeable both personally and professionally in the area of mental health and I found the course incredibly useful, interesting and interactive. Colin is a highly professional trainer, engaging in his manner, yet at the same time highly intuitive, empathetic and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and highly recommend Colin as a trainer and Coach.?
