"Have you been sleeping homeless?"

"Hello, are you ok? We have brought you some food. Have you been sleeping homeless?"
Last night after doing a River cleanUP down at the River Don just off Mugiemoss Road (Aberdeen), I continued to do a litter pick along the river bank, one which is full of litter and I've been doing most nights this past week until late.
With some of the litter under large rocks and the area full of flies, I have been putting my hood up and laying down at times to get underneath some of the obstacles to retrieve the litter.
Last night around 21:00 I heard a pair of voices shouting down at me from the roadside. I stopped what I was doing and to save shouting, I walked up to have a conversation with the male and female.
They had asked if I was ok and if i was homeless as I had been spotted over a few nights and they were concerned of my safety and well being. The female produced a large bag of food which contained, bananas, biscuits, sweets and bottles of water which they had bought and put together to make sure I didn't go hungry or thirsty.
They had also written a note for me,
"Hi, we seen you sleeping here, we are sorry that's happened to you.
Here are some numbers to help with homelessness.
*number* 24 hours
Here's some food in case your hungry.
Take care"
I have no words to describe my admiration for the effort they had gone to helping a stranger and it is something I will never ever forget!
Unfortunately they never told me their names but I would love to find out as they deserve so much recognition for their selfless act of kindness.
With so much negativity in the world at the moment, it really is nice to see that there are some extremely caring, kind and genuine people still out there trying to help others.
