Let’s find out.
The first, very expensive coaching program I went through had those old-school ideal client avatar worksheets where you had to give your ideal client a name, a picture, decide how many children they had, if they were married or not, what pets they had, and what magazines they read.
My initial reaction to this was: Why on earth would I need to know all that crap?
And who cares?
But, being the good student that I am, I made up some stuff and submitted it to my coaches.
And guess what? It didn’t help.
That kind of surface-level information told me nothing about what actually mattered which is who my best-fit clients were, what was driving their decisions, and why they’d choose to work with me over someone else.
It was a box to check off, not a real strategy.
A program that left me more confused, overwhelmed, and wondering what the hell I was missing.
And the sad reality?
This is exactly why so many coaches struggle to book clients.
Here's how to actually get clear on your Best-Fit Client
Once you get this right EVERYTHING else in your business becomes so much easier.
Forget demographics. You don’t need to know their dog’s name or what coffee they drink.
What you do need to know is their psychographics - the internal stuff that actually drives buying decisions.
? What’s keeping them up at night? The thoughts they have when no one’s around. The silent frustrations, fears, and self-doubts they don’t openly share.
? What’s the real reason they haven’t solved their problem yet? It’s never just “I need more clients” or “I need to lose weight.” There’s a deeper reason; fear, past failures, lack of trust in themselves, overwhelm from too many options.
? What beliefs are holding them back? Maybe they think they need to have a big audience before they can sell. Maybe they believe their work isn’t “worth” high prices. Maybe they feel they have to prove themselves before they deserve success.
? What do they actually want (even if they don’t say it outright)? Not the surface-level stuff. The real desire. They don’t just want more clients; they want to feel in control of their business. They don’t just want to lose weight; they want to feel attractive, confident, and in love with their body again.
? What is their decision-making process? Do they buy fast and emotionally? Do they need time and logic to justify it? Have they been burned before, making them extra cautious?
This is just the tip of the iceberg to give you an understanding of what you really need to know about your market.
When you understand these things, your offers become potent and your messaging shifts.
Instead of posting generic “value” that gets ignored, your content hits home.
Instead of feeling like you’re convincing people to work with you, they’ll feel like you’re a fly on the wall and reading their mind.
And that’s when clients start showing up in your inbox, saying:
"I don’t know how, but I feel like this was meant for me. How do we work together?"
I’m running a free workshop this Thursday called Book Clients from Social Media in 1 Hour Per Day.
I'll be talking more about how to use this deeper understanding of your best-fit client to create offers and content that naturally attracts the right people
So you can sign up clients without ads, cold DMs, sales calls or spending hours online.
Or…
If you don’t want to wait and you’re ready to start booking clients now, send me a message saying CLIENTS, and let’s chat about how we can make that happen inside The Client Accelerator.
Your dream clients are already sitting in your audience just waiting to buy. Let’s show them what they need to see to buy.
See you Thursday?

1 周Ann, you highlight a crucial shift from outdated demographic profiling to understanding psychographics for booking premium clients. This approach aligns with executive coaching, where understanding a leader's internal motivations and decision-making processes is key to fostering authentic leadership and business success. It's also key to direct our outreach so we hit the right cords with the right audience. Well done Onward ??
