The DACA case will continue to wind its way through the legal system and may end up in the Supreme Court, and the future of the program is very uncertain.
If you are a young undocumented person, we encourage you to start thinking about your next steps and consult with a legal service provider about the possibility of filing an application for initial or renewal DACA benefits. We also encourage undocumented folks and their family members to seek a legal consultation to explore other potential forms of immigration relief.
If you are in the Chicago area, you can schedule a legal consultation with NIJC by calling 312-660-1370.
You can also sign up to attend one of NIJC’s free in-person legal clinics where lawyers will help you complete and file your DACA renewal application.
If you want to hear more about what’s going on with DACA right now, listen to this interview I did with WBEZ Chicago talking to DACA recipients.
We are continuing to advocate for permanent status and a path to citizenship for all. Join us! You can sign up for NIJC's email updates so you can stay in the loop about new developments with DACA and other immigration policies and how you can help protect immigrant rights.
