Have a Listen to These Two Ding-Dongs:
Tiffani Bova and Christopher Lochhead discuss what it takes to publish a book and grow a business in the latest Legends & Loser podcast.
Tiffani and Christopher have a number of things in common. They have both contributed, in some way, to the growth of hundreds of legendary businesses, they both host great podcast shows, they are both powerhouse thought-leaders and they both like bourbon. As of last week, they have something else in common: they have both just released books.
Before I go any further, “ding-dong” is a Lochhead term. Christopher uses this as a term of respect, when referring to those of great influence. Let me be clear, for these two influencers, I have great respect.
Back in May, Tiffani and Christopher appeared on stage together at TractionForce in a podcast-style, un-keynote conversation. The feedback we received over and over was, “I wish we had more time with those two,” and “It was just getting to the good stuff.”
Since their first conversation in May, these two have released new books and formed a friendship that resulted in another conversation on Christopher's podcast series Legends & Losers.
When telling people about Lochhead's podcast, I often set it up by saying, “You need to commit to the full hour.” There's a point in every conversation where it's like a switch is flicked. Sometimes it's five minutes in, other times it's 45 minutes in. When it happens, Christopher's guests switch from recorded podcast to true conversation mode. Tiffani is an uber-accomplished speaker and host of her own podcast, What's Next! This and the fact that the conversation was already started, on stage at Tractionforce, meant these two were able to get right to it. The first 25 minutes has the two discussing being authors and releasing their books, and then it gets into some very cool insights that touch on both of these experts thoughts about growing business.
I have read both of Christopher's books, Play Bigger and Niche Down, and if you run a business or have any influence on such, I suggest you put these on your list of must-reads. Tiffani's book, Growth IQ is next on my list. I am confident that it will be one of those books that I will want to give copies away after I read it (as I have with Play Bigger and Niche Down), so I have actually ordered 10 copies. If you are more of a listener of books, Tiffani mentioned that she recently recorded the audio version of Growth IQ herself, which I applaud. (I always find it odd when someone else reads the words of an author on audio books.) Bravo for this Tiffani, and congrats to you both.
