Have a Guide

You better check his credentials...

He better have climbed successfully many times...

And helped others do the same.

In this world of "everyone is an expert"

I say "Uh... NO. No, you're not!"

"But James, I have a certificate. I went to a three to five-day training with so and so."

Here's what I'll tell you about that. I had a quantum physicist hire me as a coach in the past and with all due respect, I knew more about physics than he did. And, he couldn't build a life or business to save his life.

He had a friggin Ph.D.!! In physics!

Likewise, I had a psychologist hire me and he stated, "I learned more about the mind in 16 hours with you than I learned in ALL my schooling."

WAKE UP!

I'm not saying I"m all that. I'm not. If you KNEW how hard I've worked and the price I've paid to obtain what I know, you wouldn't think it was sexy AT ALL.

I've just put in the time and the money and the effort for over 40 years!!

I have the battle scars to prove it, as well as the successes and achievements. The peaks and the pits; and back!

I recently read a self-appointed coach post on social media, "Even if you're 14 years old you can be a coach. You have 14 years of life experience."

OOOOOOKay... my physicist client was 55 and he couldn't even coach himself.

I called him out on it in a PM. He said but James, you have to account for "past lives too."

Okay Mr. Mystical Millennial Mind, you do just that.

And you'll never reach mastery.

The Dalai Lama is supposedly an Avatar (meaning he's enlightened from a former life), and he STILL had to START at square one to hopefully awaken what was within him.

We ALL do.

He had plenty of teachers. He subjugated himself to them. He did his work, He didn't just post a bunch of nonsense on the internet.

He paid the price for his own Redemption.

And just as importantly, he had help.

He checked his ego at the door.
