Have a crack at your CAC

Have a crack at your CAC

The year is winding down, and there is no time like the present to think about Customer Acquisition Cost

We’ve got 4 tips in this week's newsletter to help guide your marketing plans for 2023 and master CAC.

1. Understand your channels

If you’re not already doing it, now is a great time to review everything you’ve done in 2022. Dig deep into your data and you may find some surprising connections.

We’ve found visualising your ad data across channels helps you to understand channel synergy. Because the customer journey is far from linear.

Beware of doubling down on one and cutting another without fully knowing how your customers decide to purchase.

2. Use lower-cost channels for your retargeting

Let’s be honest, no one is buying your product at first sight, no matter how good it is.

When retargeting use trust building copy and creative to remind your audience why they should buy. Ultimately increasing the likelihood of conversion.

Some tactics we find successful are:

  • For eCommerce Businesses: try running cold ads on Facebook, then retarget with Google Display
  • For B2B Businesses: run cold google search or Reddit ads, then retarget on LinkedIn or Facebook depending on where your audience spends more of their time.

Check out Justin Rowe post on how he uses retargeting in his strategy to get results like that here

3. Increase your customer lifetime value

If lowering your CAC feels impossible we have great news! It matters less when your customers are coming back and spending more.

Focus your energy on bringing customers back through channels like email or referral programs.

5. Brand, brand, brand

Building your brand is definitely the long game but worth it if you can become the thought of brand in your space.

In the long run, brand building will lower your CAC. But it is far from attributable in the short run.

Repetition builds reputation. Whatever you do you gotta stick with it.

Some of our go-to channels for brand building are through PR, becoming Linkedin thought leaders, and events

At Nuoptima we had zero inbound leads in year one. Since focusing on developing our authority in the space, we've seen a 300% increase in inbounds—plus referrals from clients, investors, and partners.

This month we won the best 2022 B2B SEO Campaign at the UK Search Awards

Why? We wrote a lot of amazing SEO content on Nuoptima.

And that content generated us leads. We generated an incredible 300x+ return on investment (ROI) on a single blog post, and 7x+ across all the posts - over only a 3 month period…

And it’s still bringing us leads. We're projecting a 9x overall ROI by February 2023.

We've got one more spot for a new SEO client in December. If you want these kind of results, book a call with us here
