Hausch & Company End-of-Year Roundup: Q4 2023

As we look back on 2023, we want to extend our gratitude to our clients near and far and to our talented team that continues to take our company to the next level. 2024 will bring many exciting events, more company growth, and further development of solutions to help simplify the claims process.

Below are some highlights from the past few months, and we look forward to sharing more with you in the new year.

Our latest study using Xactimate Valuation tool analyzes the difference in reconstruction costs of residential and commercial properties. Our two main takeaways from our findings:

  1. A significant decrease in rough framing costs is masking other cost increases overall.
  2. The trades with the highest cost increases are most likely affecting property claims (e.g., roofing, interior finishing, exterior finishing).

To put our findings into perspective, when reviewing the reconstruction costs for commercial properties in South Carolina, interior finishing was up almost 22% year-over-year. This could also result in the costs of an interior water claim being up that much.

Compassion matters. We instill this importance in all our employees, as it makes a difference in the lives of insureds who have experienced a tragedy. We have our clients and the insureds complete a survey at the end of every claim, and this one proves how compassion goes a long way:

“I just wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. You had my back from day one and I can’t thank you enough. Twenty-seven years as a firefighter I have dealt with so many people who have had their lives turned upside down, and one trait that all my peers and I had helping all those families who were having the worst day of there lives was compassion. The men and women who I worked with, and I feel this goes for most first responders, were some of the most compassionate, selfless, beautiful people I know. What you did and how you treated us, after an event that has affected me and my family for years to come, exemplifies the spirit of those same people I worked with and laid my life on the line with.” - Insured
