Haunted by Doubt: The Heartache of Losing Hope in Humanity

Where to start? What to say? I've been struggling with the words to write this article...to explain why I am slowly losing faith in #humanity. Finally finished it last night.
Witnessing people's struggles just to have a place to call home is disheartening. While some #corporations continue to thrive, many #employees are paid insufficient wages to make ends meet.
The U.S. federal #MinimumWage remains at $7.25 per hour for non-tipped #workers, leaving hardworking individuals barely able to survive. How can we expect a single person, let alone a family, to live off such meager earnings?
#Homelessness is an ever-growing issue, with approximately 582,000 Americans experiencing homelessness in 2022.?Yet people are concerned about what ?? a trans person uses.
We cannot ignore the tragic #MassShootings in our #schools. More than 356,000 students have experienced #gun violence at school since Columbine.? Yet we waste time debating whether #DragQueens should read books to children. We must ensure the safety of our children and address the pressing issue of gun violence.
The lack of access to #medical care is another pressing concern, with nearly 30 million Americans without #HealthInsurance. It's unacceptable to deny life-saving medical care to trans individuals based on personal #biases.
Trans people are being #bullied, #harassed, and killed - for simply being themselves. Yet, we have citizens who support and encourage the despicable actions of a former president, who (if he were a Black man) would have been charged for every crime he committed and would have never even served one term in the White House.
Could it be that many who support this former president are (dare I say it) supporting an all-? cishet world?
Corporations and #brands are not taking action to support their trans employees. Many are donating money to #politicians who support anti-trans #legislation. Yet these same companies are considered "Great Places to Work for LGBTQ+ People" and listed on HRC's Corporate Equality Index for 2022.
But let's keep pretending that all companies are #inclusive.?
Our #educational system needs to accurately represent history, including #BlackHistory, without promoting false narratives. The facts should not scare us; they should inspire us to seek truth and #justice.

LGBTQ+ Pride events are being shut down and attacked. Yet we allow White Supremacist groups to show up and bully, harass, and threaten the LGBTQ+ community.
I believe in freedom of speech but not the freedom to hate, bully, harass, and harm.
It's important to respect #religious beliefs, but we must also recognize that there is a world beyond one's perspective. Many people cite their religious beliefs as a reason to hate trans people. Yet, they fail to realize that numerous religions and #perspectives exist. And they can't show anywhere in "their Bible" where being trans is wrong. Yet these people go to church whenever the doors open and claim to love everyone.
Not all #cops are bad, but some are. We live in a country where cops kill Black people (for no reason) and get away with it because they are "the law." Yet Black people can't even walk down the street wearing a hoodie in some parts of the country.
Tell me again, how George Floyd deserved what happened to him?
#Transgender individuals should not be unfairly labeled, just as religious leaders who commit heinous acts should not be excused from #accountability. Facts, not unfounded #stereotypes, must guide us.
Roe vs. Wade was overturned, and #lawmakers are dictating what women can and can't do with their own bodies. There are?over 391,000?children and youth in #FosterCare. And god forbid we allow LGBTQ+ people to #adopt. Every individual deserves autonomy over their lives, and we should embrace LGBTQ+ individuals as potential loving parents.
Tell me again how this is the "land of the free."
I could go on, but I won't. This became much heavier than I expected it to be.
