For all of us who work in social and have our fingers on the tip of culture (what a nice way to say that we look at a lot of memes!), it may feel like internet culture is slowly making its way into more "offline" parts of your life (*cough* demure). ?? Approximately 8 million people in Brazil no longer have access to Twitter/X after the platform was suspended in the country. In its absence, Bluesky is seeing a boost in users as 2 million new users joined and 90% of them coming from Brazil.
?? While Threads has no immediate plans around monetization, they have been started to test ad formats and working on a new Sponsored Post label. They are also currently testing posts that disappear after 24 hours.
?? Instagram has added public Story comments, now lets you sort content by number of shares and you can now add text to your photos directly in the app's photo editor. They are also testing creating notes with friends and sharing what you're listening to on Spotify.
