Has your style declined this year? READ THIS.

'I've got nothing to wear' has nothing to do with clothes ?? STYLE STRATEGIST???? If you want to be money-making Market of One - you work with me on your positioning | Speaker | Author | Podcast Host
I surveyed my followers last week on how they feel about their style.?
When I asked those of you who’ve felt a decline in your style WHY that is:
IRONICALLY though, ALL of the people surveyed said they could absolutely see a link between how they dress and how they feel.?
And a huge majority went on to say they hadn’t given themselves the time to work on their goals this year.?
SO THERE WE HAVE IT.
The evidence that this is a vicious cycle.?
You’re not dressing in a way that supports you - you feel rubbish about yourself - you lack the belief that you’re the kind of person who gets to achieve your goals.
And you know this!
Yet some of you are out there telling yourselves ‘well I guess this is just it for me now. I dress like cr*p and I feel like cr*p and I don’t have time to go after my goals.’
Your life has changed since the pandemic, but your wardrobe is still stuck in a time warp. It’s either full of old office-y clothes you NEVER wear, or it’s full of tracksuit bottoms and loungewear that don’t make you feel like a bada**?
[and before anyone says it, yes loungewear can be great. But from my experience of being in dozens and dozens of women’s wardrobes this year, you ain’t wearing the lovely loungewear you favourite on Pinterest. You tell yourself that stuff would be a waste on someone like you. And instead, you’re wearing the old strained, stretched stuff you’d be mortified for your colleagues or clients to see]
THIS STUFF MATTERS.?
WHY?
Many studies have shown the link between performance and clothing. What you wear informs your identity. When you spend the majority of your time in clothes that make you feel frumpy, tired and stuck… those become part of your identity.?
And we can’t have that. ESPECIALLY right now.?
Latest data from the Reykjavik Index suggests the current economic situation is leading to distrust in women leaders, with people reverting back to ‘traditional status quo’ with the pandemic hardening gender stereotypes about the role of women at work and home.?
One expert in the BBC report says bias against women has become ‘more socially acceptable.’
Well I’ll be damned if I’m going to allow you to apply that bias to yourself.?
When things feel uncertain, we tend to talk ourselves out of opportunities. We tell ourselves it’s not the right time. We create all these scenarios in our head where our worst fears are realised. We kid ourselves with ‘when things are [more stable] then I’ll do [the thing that I know will move me forward]

There’s a false sense of safety in staying stuck. I hear it all the time. People desperately unhappy in their jobs, their relationships, their clothes…?
‘Not the right time’-ing themselves out of so much better.?
What if the only safety you have… is within yourself?
If you truly saw yourself as the answer - if you truly saw yourself as the one thing you can rely on, the person to make sh*t happen - how would you dress?
Would you wear what you’re currently wearing?
If you’re one of the people who took part in my survey… the answer is no, and you know it.?
As the year comes to a close, use this as a wake-up call.?
If you want to stop sh*tting on yourself and actually go for what you want in 2023, your wardrobe is a great place to start.?
And I would love to support you.?
You can’t spend another year feeling like this. If for no other reason than you’re leaving money on the table. You’re talking yourself out of asking for a pay rise, applying for a promotion or raising your prices.?
Don’t carry that apologetic, stuck-in-a-rut energy into 2023.?
Find out more about working with me here.?
And if ‘I don’t have time to get it sorted’ is your excuse:
A) Think about how much time you’ve wasted this year feeling like rubbish?
B) I’m now offering Power Up Your Style hours - 60 minutes. That’s all it could take to get you out of the rut it feels like you’ve spent forever in.?
Initially I offered power hours for Black Friday only, but they were sold out within a few days and I don’t want ‘I DON’T HAVE TIME’ to be your BS reason for staying stuck in a wardrobe that doesn’t work for you, for yet another year.?
