Has your health insurance changed?

Most often these days when our health insurance coverage renews, it can also mean some changes. Either to the carrier or the type of plan being sponsored. If the carrier (a/k/a the company responsible for paying your claims) has changed, this is a good time to check to make sure that the doctors or facilities that you wish to use are "in-network". Preferred providers agree to a set amount that they can charge for their services which is more favorable than the providers without a contract. If they are not participating with your carrier, you will want to search for someone that is. Don't wait until you need to plan a visit to your physician before you check the status of their participation. It can take time to find your alternative. Check the carrier's website to see a list of options. Also, remember to research conveniently located Urgent Care centers that are participating so you know where you should visit in case of an emergency.
