There is a growing body of data linking COVID-19 vaccination not only as a potential, indirect benefactor in cancer treatment but maybe also as an anti-cancer preventive immunization. Just recently at a smaller European cancer immunotherapy meeting, CIMT, researchers at Istituto Nazionale Tumori (IRCCS), Italy presented data (abstract 216) showing that several SARS-COV-2 antigens are highly homologous to tumor-associated antigens and cross-recognized by T cells in infected and vaccinated individuals. As the authors suggest the coming years will provide the final proof (real-world evidence) for such immunological experimental evidence.
