First and foremost, we can all scream 'FINALLY', as research shows that after the challenging pandemic era, weddings are back in full swing, with couples ready to celebrate in their own unique way.?

Couples will still invest heavily in their wedding. The fact that average wedding costs reached an all-time high and that the guest count grew by 17% indicates that people are prioritising the celebration of their love despite the current economic climate.?

Another key finding is that couples rely heavily on online resources for wedding planning. They expect the vast array of information available at their fingertips, and they may book, or reject, a venue based on what they see online.?They enjoy researching for their wedding elements online, comparing businesses, viewing photos, reading reviews, and comparing pricing.?

Finally, we are seeing a trend towards personalisation, with couples keen to incorporate non-traditional elements into their wedding day. This can include eco-friendly choices, unique wedding parties, and incorporated cultural or religious traditions that reflect their heritage or interests. By incorporating some non-traditional elements, couples are making their wedding day a true reflection of themselves and their values.

Bridebook's research also provided us with some predictions for 2023 and beyond.?

Firstly, despite the challenging economic conditions and rising living costs, couples will continue to prioritise their wedding day. The report predicts that the industry will remain healthy and stable, as couples focus on spending money on what matters most to them. While some may view this as a concerning development, it's clear that many couples view their wedding day as an investment in their future happiness.?

Wedding confidence is also on the rise, as couples plan extravagant celebrations and increasingly plan to travel for honeymoons. This trend is particularly evident in the growing popularity of expensive destination weddings. With honeymoons being the top splurge for many couples, we can expect to see more demand for exotic, far-flung locations in the years to come.?

Couples are also increasingly turning to the digital world to help them plan their wedding day. From social media to online research, technology plays an increasingly important role in wedding planning and inspiration. This trend is reflected in the growing popularity of wedding websites, digital invitations, and online directories.?

The report also highlights the growing trend among Gen Z couples to modernise traditions and rewrite the rules of dating, proposing, and getting married.?

I would strongly recommend you read the full report if you got a spare minute or two. You can find it here below:

And lastly, I just wanted to say that as technology continues to evolve, and people continue to see their wedding as a financial priority, I'm personally thrilled to be here and make this industry even more innovative, the wedding planning faster, easier, and more convenient than ever before. Cheers to that!
